Trump Imposes 50% Tariff on Brazil and Sanctions Moraes

In late July 2025, the United States under President Donald Trump took two unprecedented actions targeting Brazil’s sovereignty and its judiciary. First, Trump signed an executive order imposing a 50% tariff on a wide range of Brazilian imports—one of the steepest unilateral trade measures in recent memory.
